What they never told me....

For your reading pleasure.....

Here are a few miscellaneous items that I had never heard about pregnancy, before I got pregnant:

1)  I cannot breathe!!
From the moment I found out I was pregnant, it has felt like I constantly have a cold.  I'm out of breath ALL the time, which makes walking stairs, treadmills, well walking in general a difficult task.  I've heard it's something to do with the membranes in the nose contracting, but who knows.

2)  HEARTBURN!!!!!
Okay, so I had heard that some women get heartburn during pregnancy, yea yea!!  But having never felt this horrible feeling before, it would have been nice to hear just how TERRIBLE it can be.  Most days I feel like I am breathing fire (what little air I have to breathe).  I wake up with heartburn, go to bed with heartburn and everything in between.  Worst thing ever!!

3)  There are MANY, MANY ways to deliver a baby... and many positions...
That's all I will say about that, except that I'm not sure I'm looking forward to labor and delivery after everything I have been told (now that I'm pregnant).

4)  Pregnant Hungry - -
This is different than any hunger you will ever experience.  Take my word for it, but I have found I want to cry when I'm hungry and cannot get to a snack quick enough.

5)  There are lots of foods you cannot eat!
I knew that there were a few foods to avoid but really!?!?  No raw meat, aspartame, deli meat, certain cheeses, etc.  Most days I wonder what I actually can eat, and I sure miss sushi!!

6)  Dreams...
As soon as this baby became part of me, I have slept like a log... and while this is a WONDERFUL thing... the dreams that come with it can be really strange.

Off the top of my head those are some things I didn't realize came with the pregnancy club.  I know it will all be worth it in the end, but feel I have to share with those planning to have little ones in the future.  It's not all fun and games right now, but somehow I'm still enjoying every minute.

For some reason, I feel like there will be a chapter 2 of this post later.  :)

What's the name??

Ever since our ultra sound, the question of the day has been...

"What are you going to name her?"

Why is it sooo difficult to pick a name for our sweet baby girl!?  Cody and I have thrown around more than 100 or them and cannot seem to agree on one.  The Middle name is easy because we want a family name... either Carol or Jean.  Now that we know that...maybe my blogger friends can help with a first name!

Here is a list I have thrown together:
Emma
Madison
Lillian
Laney
Audrey
Lyla
Sophie
Sloane
Ellison
Hailey
Kailyn
Eliana
Brooklynn
Tessa
Ainsley

Baby Girl Bump Update

Week 22.....Our baby is the size of a spaghetti squash and weighing in over a pound.  This week I'm still feeling well.  There is a LOT of movement from our sweet baby girl, and I keep hoping Cody will be able to feel her soon.  Here is my most recent bump photo!

Baby Bedding...

So, I've already started shopping for our baby Girl.  SHOCKING, I know!!  :)
Wednesday, I found this sweet crib bedding that I am obsessed with... now, I just need to know where to find it for cheap.  It's a 9 piece set and comes with the bumper, crib skirt, toy bag, pillow, 2 valances, sheet, blanket, etc.  The only issue with that is that we don't have a window in the baby's room... we have a door.  SOOO, my idea is to have the window valances turned into a diaper bag (somehow!).  I know... sounds easy, but may end up more of a project than I think.  Will keep you updated...

Baby Davis is.... A GIRL!!!!!!!!

Cody and I went for our 20 week ultra sound on Tuesday, July 5th.  I had very little sleep the night before and was nervous and excited to find out if:
(1.) our baby was healthy and (2.) if we were having a Boy or a Girl.

Thankfully, they called us back pretty quickly, and we headed back to the ultra sound room.  We were quick to see that our baby had HER butt facing us and she was definitely a GIRL!  She was very active so we got some great pictures of her rolling around, kicking and moving.

The tech informed us that everything looks healthy and normal.  She is currently in a breech position but has plenty of time to move, and her heartbeat was 150bpm.

Here are a couple of pictures we got of the big day!

Update...Week 19

About a week and a half ago, on June 23, I was laying in bed reading, and suddenly, I felt a flutter!!  I've heard it feels as though a goldfish is in your belly... and well, that's probably the best way to describe it.  Ever since, I've felt those same flutters every day, and it is so special!!   Things are going well... just a few more days til we know if we are having a Boy or Girl... and let me tell you, we cannot wait!!!!
Here is the most recent picture of me with my baby bump.
