Lindsey's 6 Month Photo shoot!

On Friday, May 11th, Lindsey turned 6 months old!!  (Already!?!)  So we met Alli Trickey at Burns Park for a photo shoot.  It was a beautiful day.  Unfortunately, LJ wasn't all smiles but we got some great pictures anyway!

Easter Bunny!!

Last Thursday, I took LJ to meet the Easter Bunny for the first time.  The whole way there, I was worried that the person in a large white furry suit would scare her, and she would have a melt down in the middle of the mall.  Thankfully, when we arrived, there wasn't anyone else in line.  I pulled her out of her stroller, handed her over and prayed for some cute pictures.... and well, it worked!!  Lindsey looked right at me and smiled so big over and over again!  It's too bad I couldn't afford to buy all the shots, but we definitely got a few cute ones!  Now I just hope next year's experience will go just as well!

Birth to Three months

I realize I have been absent from blogging for some time now... but my goodness... Keeping up with a newborn is a tough job!!  Just wanted to post some pictures of her from birth up to her 3 month birthday!

 

I am blessed to be able to stay home with Lindsey and experience everything with her.  It's been a busy last few months, but very exciting!!  I love her so much and could not imagine my life without her now.  Hope everyone is doing well in blogger world.  I will definitely try to write more often!

One Month

Lindsey turned one month old on December 11, 2011 so I decided to give her an impromptu photo shoot!  Enjoy!!

She is now 8lbs 8oz and 21 inches long!!

Lindsey Jean's Arrival

November 11, 2011 finally arrived and so did our sweet baby girl. Cody and I headed to the hospital for the scheduled C Section at 11:30am. When we got to the maternity ward, they weighed me and put us in a holding room, number 11 (which of course, I thought was great!). The nurses came in, gave me a gown and started asking a bunch of questions. Then they had to give me an IV and said I had to get two bags of fluid in me before the surgery.
My parents and Cody's Mom, step dad and step mom all came in to see us before they took me back. I got really nervous and started shaking when the anesthesiologist came to talk to us. I was scared, anxious and worried about what was about to happen, but the nurses were all so great. When we headed to the OR, I told my family goodbye and knew that when I saw them again, I would be a mother. CRAZY!!
In the OR, the nurses prepped me for the surgery and put in the epidural and catheter while Cody was still waiting outside. At that moment, I had never been more terrified (note: I have never had surgery, or even been in a hospital) They laid me down on the table, and I could see the nurse getting my lower abdomen ready for surgery. My doctor came in the room and told me I was doing great and everything would be fine. I asked where Cody was, and right then, he walked in the room. I couldn't do anything but watch his eyes while the doctor performed the C Section. It all happened so fast. I felt pulling and pressure, and then I heard the crying of our sweet baby girl!! The doctor showed her to Cody and then tried to show her to me... I will never forget, with the sheets in the way, all I could see was her little arm, waiving at me, and I melted!! I started crying and couldn't believe I was finally a Mom.
Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the feeling for very long. As soon as they started the pitocin, I was so sick. I felt my stomach drop and had an awful feeling. They gave me something just in case I threw up, but nothing happened. I felt terrible even after they took me to recovery. I couldn't even hold our baby girl.  I tried to drink some water, but then I couldn't keep anything down.  It was horrible.
While the nurses were trying to help me feel better, Cody asked me what I wanted to name our baby. We decided on Lindsey Jean Davis. It had a special meaning to us and it fit her perfectly. After we were able to bond with her for a while, we told our family to come in and then we made our way to our hospital room.
The next few days were a blur. It flew by so fast and before we knew it, we were headed home with our sweet Lindsey. So far, things have been great...we are sleep deprived, but couldn't be happier.
